As promised, Mark and I want to have a space for you to keep track of how things are going with the construction of the Wynn Center - our wonderful new charitable event center. We'll be posting pictures and making notes about our progress along the way. We've already completed so many things - and the construction should start rolling soon after we have the okay from the city to proceed.
So, what's been done to date? We have our zoning classification (Public Assembly, Indoors) and the architectural plans are looking great. (Jon Covington is our architect.) The folks at Hassell and Folkes have guided us through the studies (e.g., traffic, environmental, fiscal) we've needed and they have submitted the application for our Conditional Use Permit.
We've purchased and/or made the prototypes of the tables and chairs. At this point, some of you have seen the chairs. The prototypes of the rectangular and round tables are in - and they are spectacular. There won't be a facility that has anything like this.
Diane, Jim, and I are having quite a bit of fun planning and preparing the inside of the Center. It will be fabulous and our customers are going to feel great from the moment they drive onto the property until the time the leave.
As this blog site develops, don't be shy about asking questions or adding your own ideas - that's what this is about - to share the construction experience as a group.
I'll be adding pictures along the way, as well as many that we've already taken. So visit often, we'll be making changes regularly!!!!!
